Coffee & Kitchen

This is another habit that sounds so stupid, so insignificant why even mention it? It helps a lot for very little effort.

The coffee gets set up for the next day in the morning before you leave, not at night. It’s tiny, but it matters.

One, it’s done in the morning, not one more thing to do at the end of the day. Two its another habit to exercise.

It also feeds right into getting out of bed at 5 the next morning. The coffee is already waiting for you.

Once the coffee is set, I give the kitchen a quick once-over. Countertops, stove, done. It’s quick, but you’re getting the kitchen ready for that night’s dinner, and it ties right into the no dishes in the sink thing.

What you’re doing is taking away the small, annoying things that you need to attend to at the end of a long day.

You know how when you walk in the door after a rough day, see dirty dishes, a dirty sink and you have annoying little shit to do before you can chill out and unwind? Avoid that.

Rather when you walk in the door that evening, the kitchen is clean and your coffee is already set for tomorrow. The impact of the little stuff on your overall attitude is big.

Do this stuff in the morning.
